Heartcode is a self-directed learning system comprised of two parts

Part 1: Computer based micro-simulations of cardiac emergencies. Ten cases must be completed successfully.

Upon completion of the exam, students need to achieve a minimum score of 84% or higher

Print out Part 1 certificate showing completion, and present it to the ACLS instructor at the skills testing session.

Part 2: Participants demonstrate micro-simulations of cardiac emergencies with an American Heart Association instructor that can provide feedback and evaluation of knowledge. Part 2 takes approximately thirty minutes to complete.

Heartcode is the only on-line program that is accepted in hospitals and pre-hospital because a skills check is required.
